Celtic take on the Steelmen in a 3pm kick-off at Celtic Park, the start of a hectic period that will see 11 games played before the mid-season winter break in January.

The only two players, outside of those injured, not involved at the training centre this morning were Luis Palma and Alistair Johnston. Both stars will return on Friday, as confirmed by manager Brendan Rodgers in a media conference.

Kyogo shakes off head knock

The good news is that Kyogo Furuhashi has overcome what was a potential concussion suffered in the match at home to Aberdeen prior to the international break.

He was on the receiving end of a vicious challenge from Dons defender Slobodan Rubezic, which received significant criticism from Celtic fans and radio pundits.

Kyogo had admitted he couldn’t remember the minutes in the aftermath of the incident but thankfully he has rested up to be able to take part in training and, presumably matches, despite missing out on recent Japan games.

Celtic winger Marco Tilio was also pictured in training today, making it back quickly from international duty with the Australian U23s, where he started his first match since June in the early hours of Tuesday morning UK time.

Intrigue surrounds the signing from Melbourne City given he has yet to make an appearance for the Bhoys. But it’s clear he is involved and does have a chance to impress Rodgers on the training pitch.

The Celtic boss has previously stated that the Australian has struggled to adapt to life in Scotland.

With such a dense period of fixtures ahead, hopefully he can show he is worth getting minutes soon. The manager will need to use the full depth of his squad to get through this period, especially with wingers Liel Abada and Daizen Maeda currently injured
