Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, denied reports that head coach Mike McCarthy would be let go if the team fell to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In the 2022 NFL season, the Dallas Cowboys will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium to begin their postseason run.

Even before the Super Wild Card Round game has begun, there have been whispers circulating that head coach Mike McCarthy’s position may be under threat. Jerry Jones, the owner of the Cowboys, stated that his coach’s position is secure on his weekly broadcast on 103.5 The Fan.

No. I’m not even sure where to begin. Nope. Jones remarked, “I have to assess Mike McCarthy in light of more than just one playoff game. I don’t need to get into specifics.

Under McCarthy, the Cowboys are 30-20 during the regular season and 0-1 during the postseason. The fact that the ex-Green Bay Packers coach led the Cowboys to postseason appearances in back-to-back seasons something they haven’t done since 2006–07—puts him in a terrific position.

The Cowboys’ 2022 season got off to a bad start against Tampa Bay as Dak Prescott got hurt. Jones, though, thinks his squad has what it takes to overcome the NFC South winners.

“Our coordinator, Mike, and our offensive line coaches have my total trust. I firmly believe that we can make the required modifications for this week. The owner of the Cowboys stated, “I see us playing better.”

Tom Brady, the quarterback for the Buccaneers, has defeated the Dallas Cowboys in each of his seven career meetings with them, making this matchup extremely difficult.
