Mohamed Ibrahim undergoes immediate surgery

While Mohamed Ibrahim needed emergency surgery, Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell predicted that he would recover.

The Detroit Lions bad day got even worse early in the second half. Mohamed Ibrahim, signed just this week to the practice squad, caught a kickoff midway through the third quarter, but took a big shot to the midsection on the return. He would eventually have to be carted off

Coach Dan Campbell claims that when Ibrahim’s dislocated hip required immediate surgery, he was taken to a nearby hospital.

During his press conference following the game, Campbell stated, “Mo is in the hospital and he’s having surgery right now.” “It seems like he will be well, but he will be spending the night here. He’s hardy. That’s terrible for him.

Ibrahim is having a terrible break because he has battled injuries for a large portion of his football career. He had a horrific Achilles injury in the Minnesota Gophers’ season-opening match in 2021. Then, he sustained an injury during this year’s Lions training camp that put him on injured reserve before he and the organization came to an agreement over an injury settlement.

For the running backs of the Lions, it’s another difficult injury. Due to a shoulder injury, Zonovan Knight has already missed the entire season. Craig Reynolds played through his own hamstring issue on Sunday, Jahmyr Gibbs just returned after missing a few games due to injury, and David Montgomery is slated to miss further time due to a rib injury.

For wide receiver Kalif Raymond, who exited the game late after hobbling up after a punt return, the news was thankfully much better.

“Kalif is doing well. Campbell remarked, “He’ll be fine, but he had some cramps at the end.”

The Lions will play the Las Vegas Raiders on “Monday Night Football” in Detroit the following week, giving them an extra day to get ready.
