There was a moment of unease in the Minnesota community during Monday night’s Minnesota Timberwolves game versus the Portland Trail Blazers. The main player for the Timberwolves, Anthony Edwards, was brought to the locker room in the third quarter when it looked that he had injured his elbow during a drive to the basket. He was declared questionable to return after receiving a diagnosis of a right elbow injury moments earlier. Nevertheless, it appears like the 22-year-old would continue to play even if he was hurt. To the amazement of many, Edwards returned to the floor in the fourth quarter. (According to Underdog NBA)

While some found this to be admirable—that is, that Edwards is ready to stick with it out and embrace his inner Mamba—others expressed caution. Many fans expressed concern for the young star’s health on social media in response to the revelation.

To prevent any chance of Edwards’ elbow going worse, others are urging him to take some time off. The Timberwolves’ two-time All-Star is undoubtedly their team’s focal point, so as the postseason draws closer, the team’s ability to maintain his health is critical.

His performance has been one of the main reasons why the team is a frontrunner in the Western Conference. Presently, the Timberwolves are in a close fight against the Oklahoma City Thunder for the top seed.
