After surgery, Tony Mowbray is “getting stronger,” according to Birmingham City assistant manager Mark Venus.
The 60-year-old former Sunderland and Birmingham manager took a temporary leave of absence ten days ago to receive treatment for an undisclosed medical problem. On Thursday, Venus provided a positive update during a news conference.
Venus remarked, “To be honest, I’ve talked to him every day. A brief update: everything is good after his operation. He should be returning soon because he is becoming stronger.
“I gave the fellows a small upgrade from him this morning (Thursday). They all inquired, they kept inquiring. We are keeping everybody up to date with it. He’s getting stronger.”
