On March 6, the Buffalo Bills cut loose a number of veterans, but they also welcomed back a well-known player. Mitch Trubisky, the backup quarterback for Buffalo Bills to Josh Allen during the 2021–2022 NFL season, is coming back to the team.

The former No. 2 overall selection in the 2017 NFL Draft departed the Bills amicably. After that, he went on to become the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but things didn’t work out. His tenure as a starter was short lived as he inked a $14.25 million, two-year contract that contained up to $27 million in incentives.By week 5 of the 2022 NFL season, Pittsburgh benched Trubisky in favor of then-rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett. Trubisky made two more starts after Pickett suffered an ankle injury last season, going 0-2. Pittsburgh replaced him with quarterback Mason Rudolph, who went 3-0 and clinched the Steelers a playoff spot.

Trubisky spoke candidly about his departure from Pittsburgh on March 7, the day he signed his new contract in Buffalo. Trubisky remarked, “It was a good, mutual breakup.”

There were whispers that they intended to carry it out. In my opinion, it would be better to act sooner rather than later if it is going to occur. In the end, it was advantageous to both sides.
