The Green Bay Packers had everyone back at practice in some capacity on Friday except for two key defensive starters. Cornerback Jaire Alexander and linebacker Quay Walker missed practice once again on Friday with injuries. Their status for this weekend at the Pittsburgh Steelers (5-3) is very much in doubt.

Alexander is dealing with a shoulder injury and he has not practiced all week. It would be a shock for him to play this weekend. Jaire Alexander would be missing a game again for the Green Bay Packers if ruled inactive and this wouldn’t be for the first time this season.

As for Quay Walker, he has played in every game this year and that is in jeopardy. Walker has been one of the best defensive players on the roster so far this season. He has recorded 66 total tackles, one interception, and one defensive touchdown so far this season.

The Green Bay Packers’ Defense Will Definitely Miss Jaire Alexander and Quay Walker But It Isn’t Like the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Offense Is Special

Entering Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, they have the fifth-fewest yards per game this season at 278.5 yards per game. Only the Las Vegas Raiders, the Carolina Panthers, the New York Jets, and the New York Giants have fewer yards per game this season than Pittsburgh does.

The Green Bay Packers would be better off possibly having Jaire Alexander and Quay Walker in the lineup this weekend, but they can still play very well against the Steelers without them. The potential replacement starters this weekend could be Eric Wilson over Quay Walker and Carrington Valentine for Jaire Alexander.

As for the Pittsburgh Steelers have been outgained in a lot of games this season and somehow are 5-3 on the season. The Green Bay Packers at 3-5 are looking to pull off the upset win this weekend potentially without those two key defensive starters.
