With the release being several months away, this isn’t stopping people from speculating who may be the highest overall players overall and on their teams.
In the case of Miami, based on what we saw last season and going forward this just might be how their top overall players shape up:
Coming in at the number one spot is Miami’s top returning linebacker who was dominate last season. Ranking near the top of FBS in tackles for loss and tied with the team lead in sacks with 7.5, Mauigoa will enter the season near the top of the Butkus Award Watchlist as he’ll play a pivotal role on this defense. In terms of overall rating, I see it hovering around the low 90s overall.
One of the top returning receivers in college football, Restrepo had nearly 1,100 yards with 85 receptions and six touchdowns. Now with a better quarterback throwing him the ball, he’ll be expected to have a similar season this upcoming one. Regarding his rating, I see him and Mauigoa being the only two 90+ overalls on the team with him being slightly below Mauigoa’s overall.
A player that will be electric to play with on the video game with his mix of speed and arm talent, Ward comes to Miami after two successful seasons at Washington State. Miami fans will be jumping all over the opportunities to use Ward in option run plays with their talented backfield in the new game, as he’s a video game style quarterback. In terms of his overall, I see Ward coming in at the high 80s mark, somewhere between 87-89.
