Unsurprisingly, Alabama football had a very good Wednesday. Twenty-three players put pen to paper and the Crimson Tide completed another practice ahead of the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Rose Bowl. Yet, before UA head coach Nick Saban took questions from reporters, he wanted to make something clear:

Alabama wasn’t done yet. Later, when asked about the Crimson Tide’s three offensive linemen added, Saban made it a point to say they wanted more in the trenches as well.

“I still think we’re kind of out there in the market looking for some more those kind of guys, offensive linemen. Just from a numbers standpoint and from a quality, experience standpoint so we’re excited to have them and we’re still out there looking to try to add some people at that position,” said Saban.

Alabama is currently ranked only behind Georgia on 247Sports team rankings, which was likely cemented with both teams pulling in elite-level flips (safety KJ Bolden to Georgia and athlete Aeryn Hampton to UA), at the start of the early signing period, which ends Friday.
Two players have yet to officially sign their paperwork but have verbally committed. Saraland five-star wide receiver Ryan Williams reclassified to this cycle a week ago, and has plans to graduate in May and enroll in the summer. Multiple programs, including rival Auburn, are competing for the Mr. Football winner. If Williams sticks with Alabama, however, it would give the Tide three five-stars in addition to quarterback Julian Sayin and defensive back Jaylen Mbakwe.
Alabama has also been in the mix for four-star running back Daniel Hill, four-star safety Xavier Mincey and three-star offensive lineman Favour Edwin. The prior two are set to commit during the All-American game on Jan. 6.
“Trying to finish this part of recruiting at least,” Saban said. “There’s still some other guys out there we’re obviously interested in that may sign in the next few days or some guys that will wait till February, but we’re really pleased with the class.”
In 2023, when Alabama reclaimed the crown of top recruiting class, first-year offensive line coach Eric Wolford landed five signees. The highlight was Kadyn Proctor, who was flipped the day before early signing day. Alabama also added reclassified five-star defensive back Dezz Ricks before that window closed.
