Leeds United loaned centre-back Max Wöber to Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer and he is one of the few who could be sold permanently in the near future.

In the summer, Daniel Farke’s task was made infinitely more difficult by a number of loans that the club had to sanction due to clauses in player contracts.

Max Wöber was one of the players who had one of those clauses in his contract at Elland Road, although he only joined in January in the midst of a very clear relegation battle. How is Wöber doing in Germany? Borussia Mönchengladbach was Wöber’s destination in the summer and his start to the Bundesliga has not been great, with his first win of the season coming in six games against VfL Bochum at the weekend. That resulted in Wöber getting his second assist of the season as Alassane Plea turned his header wide of the far post to see his new side currently in 13th place – they finished 10th last season under Farke. What is the last one? Germany’s Rheinische Post now claim that Monchengladbach should sign his permanent deal very soon.

Described in the report as a “true leader”, Wöber is seen here with his club, which will be brought in permanently, worth £12.6 million.

However, Monchengladbach’s problem is that Leeds may succeed and want him back once they return to the Premier League. We don’t want Wöber back as a footballer or a character.

He jumped ship after helping us get relegated last season so he can do what he wants but it won’t happen at Elland Road where he’s not welcome.

If we can make a profit on the £10m paid for him earlier this year, it will be happy days as he hasn’t done much to prove his value has increased.
