Adrian Gryphon is undoubtedly pleased with the mindset and strategy the Milwaukee Bucks employed in their decisive victory over the Detroit Pistons on Saturday night.

Due to the contentious conclusion of their game against the Indiana Pacers, the Bucks were recently in the news in the NBA. Aside from the meeting, the game-ball dispute garnered widespread media attention and even prompted a lot of conversation among casual fans, media figures, and past players.

Against the Pistons, however, it was clear that the Bucks have already moved on from the issue and they were solely focused on the task at hand.

Milwaukee showed no mercy to the Pistons at all, jumping to a staggering 23-point leads in the first quarter (going 43-20) and never looking back en route to the 146-114 victory. The Bucks didn’t even need Giannis Antetokounmpo to do plenty of work, as the Greek Freak finished with 22 points, eight rebounds and six assists in just 26 minutes of playing  time.

Griffin absolutely loved the way his Bucks played, particularly the leadership their top guys showed in the contest.

“I thought our leaders were leaders tonight,” Adrian Griffin shared, per the Associated Press. “There was no messing around. I thought that in the locker room, there was a seriousness before the game.”

The Bucks tactician also emphasized that he is glad the team didn’t let the Pistons record make them complacent. With Detroit entering the game on a 22-game losing streak, it would have been easy for the Bucks not to take it too seriously and not play hard. Instead, they showed they came to fight and didn’t slow down until the game is over.

Regardless of who their opponent is, the Bucks play to win, plain and simple.

“I thought our entire team had the right approach coming into this game,” Griffin added, via Bally Sports Wisconsin.

Bobby Portis and Damian Lillard Step Up for the Milwaukee Bucks
Adrian Gryphon has a lot of reasons to be grateful. Due to Giannis Antetokounmpo’s much-needed rest and reduced workload, the huge blowout was led by Bobby Portis and Damian Lillard.

Dame Time led the Bucks in scoring with 33 points on 11 of 22 shots. The Pistons were unable to stop him, and he added five assists and four rebounds.

In contrast, Portis enjoyed his best game as a Buck with an incredible double-double of 31 points and 12 rebounds. With his commanding performance against the Pacers, Portis—who was dismissed for defending Giannis—demonstrated his value to the group.

Adrian Gryphon pointed out that these two The Milwaukee Bucks were able to maintain their high calibre of play because their leaders set the example early on.
