Max Shulga, one of college basketball’s top returners, has made the surprising decision to decommit from Villanova and return to VCU for his final year of eligibility. Known for his dynamic playing style and leadership on the court, Shulga initially committed to Villanova, generating excitement among Wildcats fans. During the offseason, it was widely known that he considered going professional, but Villanova made an NIL offer he couldn’t refuse.
In a surprise to VCU fans, Shulga chose to return to VCU, where he has built strong relationships with his teammates and coaching staff. In his last season at VCU, Shulga averaged 14.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game, showcasing his all-around capabilities.
