Michigan head football coach Jim Harbaugh has a new trophy in his office, one he may or may not have requested from graduate linebacker Michael Barrett. Barrett broke his helmet in the Maryland game, and Harbaugh now has it as a piece of memorabilia along with hundreds of others in his office.

“Whenever I have a player that breaks a helmet, they hit somebody so hard they break a helmet, I use it as a trophy,” Harbaugh said. “Mike Barrett was kind enough to give me that. I mean, look at the bend there.

“That’s football right there!”

The stadium was electric; everyone was going crazy. The team just brought it from the beginning and had full control from start to finish, so it was really fun to watch.”
