Michael Malone Reacts To Dan Hurley, Lakers Rumors

It’s no secret that there’s no love lost between Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone and the Los Angeles Lakers, as he has publicly taken shots at the storied franchise on multiple occasions.

The Nuggets famously swept the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals last year and made easy work of LeBron James and company this year in the first round of the NBA playoffs, beating them in five games, adding more fuel to the fire on this budding rivalry.

Even though the Nuggets were ultimately knocked out of the postseason in the second round by a young Minnesota Timberwolves squad led by Anthony Edwards, Denver is still expected to be a force to be reckoned with for many years to come, which can’t be said for the Lakers, who seem to be heading in the wrong direction.

After the Lakers’ season came to an end at the hands of Nikola Jokic and his squad, Los Angeles promptly fired head coach Darvin Ham, and now appear to be targeting UConn’s Dan Hurley to be the new leader on the sideline.

Malone recently appeared on “The Jim Rome Show” and was asked about Hurley potentially becoming the Lakers’ new head coach.

“I think Danny can do a hell of a job coaching in the NBA,” Malone said.
