The most recent Everton injury news ahead of the Toffees’ matchup with Crystal Palace, with Sean Dyche learning of Seamus Coleman’s progress, indicates that Amadou Onana is doubtful.

The last Premier League match before the international break will take place on Saturday at Selhurst Park between Crystal Palace and Everton. The previous time the two clubs faced off, in April, Roy Hodgson’s squad held Dyche’s side to a scoreless draw. Since 2020, it was the Blues’ first victory in south London.

Everton will hope to avoid a defeat again this weekend to continue their recent run of form. Dyche has overseen three wins and a draw in their last six top-flight fixtures. He can now go unbeaten in three straight league games with the Toffees for the first time since early April.

Everton injury list ahead of facing Crystal Palace

Injury concerns may blight Everton’s bid to avoid a defeat at Crystal Palace as Dyche faces a clutch of absences. The Blues boss will also hope his side produces a clean display in south London with a potential suspension looming before Manchester United visit Goodison Park.

Amadou Onana injury latest

A calf injury sidelined Onana before Everton’s 1-1 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion and he remains a doubt to face Crystal Palace. Dyche had started the 22-year-old in all of the Blues’ previous 10 Premier League games this season. He also started their three Carabao Cup ties.

Dyche attempted to allay fears over the severity of the injury that kept Onana from facing the Seagulls. He sought to avoid risking aggravating the issue as Everton played a third game in a week. The Belgian had played through his pain at West Ham United and against Burnley.

He has used it in the past two games, according to Dyche, as reported by Liverpool World. It’s not a major one, just a niggly calf that has been bothering me. However, the game was approaching so swiftly that we had to call instead of playing [him] and then go.

Andre Gomes injury latest

Everton have missed Andre Gomes since the opening day of the 2023/24 campaign after he suffered a calf injury. Dyche admits the midfielder has been ‘frustrated’ with his latest spell on the sidelines. But he is now making progress in the 30-year-old’s recovery at Finch Farm.

“Andre has been very frustrated,” Dyche noted, via the Liverpool Echo. “He has got a niggly calf injury again, but he is coming back through that now.”

Gomes is yet to feature this season due to the injury after spending Everton’s opening day defeat to Fulham on the bench. Fitness problems also plagued his season on loan to LOSC Lille last term, making just 27 outings. He also only played 19 times at Everton in 2021/22.

Seamus Coleman injury latest

Everton captain Seamus Coleman has not played this term after suffering a medial ligament knee injury in May. But the right-back is closing in on his long-awaited return after featuring for the Toffees’ Under-21s. He had outings against Manchester United and Mansfield Town.

Coleman played 45 minutes against the Red Devils’ development squad before playing over an hour in the EFL Trophy. Although Dyche will not take any risks with his return to the first-team. The 35-year-old, therefore, may return to full availability after the international break.

Dele Alli injury latest

Dyche admitted ahead of Everton hosting Brighton that Dele Alli remains a while away from returning from his injury. But the 27-year-old has resumed training on their pitches at Finch Farm ahead of his comeback. The midfielder has been out with a groin injury since February.

“’Dele has time got some time to go,” he said, via the Liverpool Echo. “He has just got back on the grass now and he is in a good place as I spoke to him the other day. I had a chat with him and he seems in a good place, other than his injury of course, he is frustrated by that.”

Everton have remained without Dele since he returned from a loan spell at Besiktas after he suffered a setback in his recovery. The 37-cap England playmaker sustained a term-ending injury that required surgery whilst in Turkey. He had appeared 15 times for the Black Eagles.

Jarrad Branthwaite is at risk of suspension

Everton will also head to Crystal Palace on Saturday with Dyche fearful of Jarrad Branthwaite picking up a yellow card. The 21-year-old sits on four cautions through his nine appearances so far this season. So, a caution at Selhurst Park will rule him out against Manchester United.

Branthwaite has become a rock in Dyche’s backline this term since coming into the Blues’ XI in August. He has started their past nine games after watching the opening two fixtures as a substitute. Now, Dyche will be loath to host the Red Devils without him come November 26.
