The Sun have revealed that Yves Bissouma was the victim of a mugging in France over the weekend, with the Tottenham man having his £260,000 watch stolen after brazen muggers sprayed tear gas in his face.

The incident happened outside the Majestic Barriere Hotel in Cannes at around 4 am, with Bissouma and his wife being attacked as they got out of their car.

Two hooded men reportedly pounced on Bissouma at Promenade de la Croisette, up-market Cannes’ swankiest street.

The 27-year-old is thought to have explained to the police that he tried to take refuge inside the hotel but its doors were locked.

It is revealed that the robbers sprayed tear gas in the Premier League midfielder’s face and ripped a £260,000 watch from his wrist before getting away in a car, leaving both the player and his wife shocked.

This is quite scary stuff and one would hope that Bissouma and his wife are doing okay.

I am sure Tottenham will offer the midfielder and his partner all the help they need if they had been mentally scarred by the incident.

Hopefully, the French authorities bring the criminals to justice over what looks to have been a planned incident given the value of the theft.
