According to sources, Tottenham’s chances of acquiring Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly before tonight at 11 p.m. are dwindling, and two of their own players are reportedly contributing to the issue.

Spurs have made no secret of their desire to add another seasoned center-half, and earlier on Friday they officially launched a £20 million proposal for the left-footed Kelly.

Eric Dier would have also moved the opposite way under the proposed terms, but the England international refused to consent to the change.

Athletic later reported that Dier had also been offered a move to Nottingham Forest. However, this change also did not go to Dier’s will.

The Times insists Tottenham have not given up hope of resuming their pursuit of Kelly. However, according to the latest information from Football London, a deal is now very unlikely.

Explaining why, the agency revealed that the reason was twofold. First, Bournemouth are becoming “really reluctant” to part ways with a regular player on the south coast.

Second, Tottenham will have to move a player before signing Kelly and along with Dier, Davinson Sanchez is also proving difficult to move.

Indeed, Football London have added that the Colombian “now wants to stay” at Tottenham.

Unless Tottenham can get rid of Dier or Sanchez in the next few hours, the proposed move for Kelly will become impossible.
