Jim Harbaugh is the hottest name among NFL teams looking for a head coach. That’s why it’s no surprise teams are lining up for an opportuanity to meet with him.

The University of Michigan head coach, who just won a national championship, is expected to meet with the Los Angeles Chargers this week, according to a report from nfl.com’s Ian Rapoport. The Las Vegas Raiders are also reportedly interested in meeting with Harbaugh.

The Chargers have a head coach vacancy after firing Brandon Staley in December. Rapoport’s report adds that Harbaugh has told associates “there’s a real possibility” he could leave Michigan for the Chargers job.

Harbaugh has become one of the most sought-after coaching prospects after leading the Wolverines to their first national championship in the College Football Playoff era. Harbaugh possesses a glittering resume at Michigan during the past three seasons, posting a 40-3 record with three Big Ten titles and three College Football Playoff appearances, with a national title.
Harbaugh was also successful as a NFL coach with the San Francisco 49ers, posting a 44-19-1 record in four seasons. Harbaugh led the 49ers to back-to-back trips to the NFC Championship games and reached Super Bowl 47.
Harbaugh has flirted with the NFL during each of the past three seasons, reportedly including flying to Minnesota to interview for the Vikings head coach position two years ago.
Harbaugh has a familiarity with the Chargers and owner Dean Spanos. He played for the then-San Diego Chargers during the 1999 and 2000 seasons.
