Health has been elusive for this position group over the past four seasons. It started in 2020 when Justyn Ross was ruled out before the season and then both Joe Ngata and Frank Ladson were lost to season-long injuries. Since then, the Tigers have lost at least one important playmaker to a significant injury.

In 2023 both Cole Turner and Antonio Williams missed significant time. Turner was lost for the season in the second game and Williams missed most of the back half of the schedule before returning in the Gator Bowl.

If we are looking for signs that Clemson could be turning a corner in this regard, look no further than Troy Stellato, who was one of the Tigers’ most reliable pass catchers after missing most of his first two seasons because of injuries.

If they can stay healthy – and that is a big if – then they have two players who could be positioned for breakout seasons with Williams and Tyler Brown, with Stellato, Turner, and Adam Randall providing depth.

Oh, there are also these other two guys joining the squad that we’ve heard are pretty good.

Charlotte (NC) Providence Day School five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. recently named his top six, Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State, South Carolina and Tennessee, and now 247Sports’ No. 2 overall prospect in the 2025 class has locked in his spring visits.

The 6-foot-6, 270-pound Sanders has three visits set for March. Clemson kicks things off on the 10th. Georgia is set for a return on the 16th. Alabama is locked in for the 23rd.
