Tiger Woods will miss next week’s tournament on the PGA Tour schedule.
Woods was not among the names listed on the 144-golfer field for The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass as the 5 p.m. Friday deadline to enter the tournament came and went.
This comes after the 48-year-old withdrew from February’s Genesis Invitational in the middle of the second round after what was first described as an “illness” and that Woods later clarified was “influenza.”
It was Woods’ first full-field PGA Tournament since he exited from the 2023 Masters, after which he underwent surgery on his ankle.
