Rapper Jeezy and Nia Long had an open discussion about their individual divorces and self-love.

at September, Jeezy moved to dissolve his union with Jeannie Mai at the Fulton County Superior Court of Georgia. The paperwork said that “the marriage of the parties is irretrievably broken” and that “there is no hope for reconciliation.”

In a video posted on his YouTube page on Tuesday, Jeezy, 46, said to Long, 53, in general terms about love and family that he “can’t honestly tell you that I’ve experienced love, especially not unconditional.”

The rapper from “Put On” continued by saying he would rather not discuss many specifics of their breakup.

“The trip has not been simple. You can tell that I’m depressed. I am disappointed, that much is certain. Jeezy said to Long, “I can tell you that I’m uneasy.” “But God has put me on a different path, and that path is going to entail for me to take care of myself and to love myself and to be in the best situation that I can thrive as someone who’s been through all of the things that I’ve been through.”

Jeezy acknowledged that although he and Mai tried counseling, it was insufficient to keep their marriage intact. “There’s only so much I can do. I can’t expect anyone else to carry out my duties,” he remarked.

He finally spoke out about the couple’s breakup on October 19, telling People and E! News in a statement that “It was not an easy decision to close this chapter in my life, and it comes with a sad heart. In spite of everything, I still love and respect Jeannie, and I will always treasure the memories of our time together.”
