John Elway’s tenure with the Denver Broncos
John Elway played for 16 seasons with the team and was later a front office executive for over a decade, but now that his contract is up, he and the Broncos are parting ways amicably.
The former quarterback was a consultant for the team up until the end of last season, but the new ownership in Denver isn’t envisioning an immediate future in which he’s involved as they decided not to give him a new contract.
During Elway’s tenure as general manager and executive VP of Football Operations, the Broncos won five AFC West titles and had to Super Bowl appearances, with a 1-1 record in the game for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
