Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams will be out for up to four months following an operation on his injured hamstring.

Adams previously had hamstring surgery at the end of March while with former club Leeds United and did not play in the remainder of the 2022-23 campaign.

He joined Bournemouth in the summer and has appeared once as a 70th minute substitute in an EFL Cup win against Stoke City in September.

Cherries boss Andoni Iraola said the “past surgery was not successful”.

“[He] wasn’t feeling 100% – now he has the need to start again from zero. [He will be] out for three, four months, [but] once he’s with us he’ll be 100%.

“When you sign a player there are different things going on and difficult decisions to take but even with injuries it’s very good for us to have a player like Tyler playing for Bournemouth.”
