I want you to give me your take on Alabama. Sounds like you watched the Georgia game some. What are your impressions, watching Bama this season?

Vance Bedford

Physical football team offensively with an athletic quarterback. He has a cannon for an arm but accuracy sometimes could be questionable. He’ll throw the ball high sometimes. I saw against Georgia they ran a duo. And they had that 330 pound defensive lineman; They put him on his back several times.

But again, Georgia’s a team to just sit there and say ‘block me’ and they will. We move enough to slow all that stuff down which I think is gonna benefit us. But they’re a physical football team defensively. They will walk up and press our guys. If you’ve got ten snaps, eight times they’re gonna be up pressing. So we got to find ways to get our guys open. They’re gonna run quarters or press. They gonna run man to man.

Three match is… in other words, they’re matching everything close on this three deep zone. So again, offensively we need to motion guys, run tandem splits, bunch formations… Defensively, just do what we do. Let’s go blitz these guys, right now. Hey, let’s run lightning, right now. Getting off the bus, I’m running lightning right now. It takes away duo, takes away the quarterback scramble. Let’s go get these guys right now.

Let’s run nickel sam, right now, let’s go get them. Let’s run cowboy, right now. Again, let’s be aggressive, and I we do that… Think about it, now. Alabama’s offense certain games are struggling. Sometimes, they start off hot but then people adjust to what they’re doing in the game and they start struggling, somewhat. So let’s go get ’em early, and see what happens. Then just have some fun.
