Reigning world 100m champion Sha’Carri Richardson has opened up about her beauty hacks that fellow female sprinters and women can learn from her.

She recently signed an ambassadorial deal with Olay and this will be an inspiration for her to do even much better since she is known to tap into her beauty. The skin care brand has partnered with her to launch its ground breaking new water-activated cleanser, the Cleansing Melts.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Nylon, the world 200m bronze medallist said: “If you look good, you feel good, you do good, I feel that way on and off the track.

I just knew the track was going to be a huge part of my life. I liked to run and put my best self into it — and honestly, I’ve kept running since.”

Speaking about her first beauty memory and the beauty secrets she learnt from her family members, the American disclosed that she grew up in a house full of women and she would always see her sisters dolled up.

She explained that her family created a culture of beauty in her and she never looked back since then, from her hair to her long signature nails.

“I grew up in a household full of women, so my first beauty memory would just be seeing my family members always dolled up. They always presented themselves well and kept up with their personal styles, beauty routines, and hair rituals.

“It would definitely be from my sisters — understanding the silk press. I loved it. I just grew up seeing that in the women in my family.

“I would also say my nails. That was something else I saw on a lot of them growing up; they were long or short nails but always had creative designs,” Richardson said.

The 24-year-old also noted that her beauty routine always gets her ready and empowers her to perform her best during championships.

She also extended a hand of gratitude to her nail techs for always making sure she looks stunning on race days. Richardson added that she always gives them a colour and from that, they are able to design something great for her.

“I’ve always been taught that anytime you leave your house, you should look your best. I feel that way when I compete, even though it’s on a larger scale.

“In life, you walk out your house and you want to manifest great things for yourself or attract just positive energy. In order to do that, you start with what makes your energy good.
