We take a look at the squad of players that manager Xisco Munoz could choose from as the Owls look to finally claim their first three points of the 2023-24 campaign.

Sheffield Wednesday boss Xisco Munoz has only a few selection concerns ahead of today’s home game with Ipswich Town. The Owls welcome Kieran McKenna’s side to Hillsborough at 3pm.

They are one of three teams in the Championship still looking for their first win of the season, after one draw and four losses so far. But they will receive plenty of encouragement in the game before pulling off the duck with a goalless draw against Leeds United. For the clash with the Ipswich team that nearly took them to second place in League One last season, Munoz had only a handful of players absent. The full extent and details of Momo Diaby’s injury are yet to be revealed by the Owls after the French giants were injured on their impressive debut against Preston North End last month. Speaking before today’s match, Munoz still expressed reservations about the loan player’s condition:
“We will see how he is doing.

“If he’s lucky, maybe he will recover and return to the team. We are trying to recover as quickly as possible and then we will see if he is ready or not. But for now he is have to sit out and so we’ll see what happens next.” weeks, or in two, three, four weeks. He must recover 100%.”

Another player not playing today is Mallik Wilks who has a long-term injury. Having been out of action since early April, he recently returned to the club’s Under-21 team, but Munoz believes it could be some time before he returns to the first team.

Elsewhere, neither Marvin Johnson nor Ciaran Brennan were added to the club’s EFL squad list (although one place remains vacant), so neither will feature here. New signings John Buckley and Jeff Hendrick were both ready and available, however they missed the registration deadline for the Leeds match.

The trio of Devis Vasquez, Di’Shon Bernard and Juan Delgado are also expected to be involved although they flew to different continents during the recent international break to join Colombia, Jamaica and Chile respectively. Les joueurs des Owls disponibles pour unfronter Ipswich Town
