West Ham hope to have two to three players signed by the end of June signalling a change to other Summer transfer windows where they have been slow to act.

The domestic transfer window opens on 14 June but the international transfer window opens on 1 July.

Tim Steidten has been working behind the scenes with his new-look recruitment team to get business done as early as possible.

Thilo Kehrer has already been sold to Monaco for £9m after the French club activated an option.

Tim Steidten and Julen Lopetegui will prioritise two centre-backs and a striker but many other positions need to be strengthened over the summer.

Head Count Lopetegui wants to have a full squad of 25 players but to do that he needs eight homegrown players, with Conor Coventry already gone and Ben Johnson and Joseph Anang likely to leave the squad will be down to five homegrown players in Danny Ings, Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio, James Ward Prowse and Aaron Cresswell who has signed a one year option to stay.

George Earthy is only 19 so doesn’t count towards homegrown players as no player under 21 needs a squad place to play in the sitenior team.
