The international week always brings this kind of news that every Celtic fan dreads. The injury update.

It’s something that has blighted Celtic for the past two seasons as the fans have seen the likes of Kyogo Furuhashi return from Japan duty on the treatment table.

Even this season, Liel Abada picked up a serious injury in October after going on duty with Israel and is not set to return to first-team action till December.

And now, it seems, that Luis Palma has picked up a knock in Honduras’ 2-0 win over Mexico at the weekend.

Palma was instrumental in securing a historic first-ever victory over the Latin American side and it seems he could be a doubt for the return fixture tomorrow night.

Honduras manager, Reinaldo Rueda, has confirmed that he has two players who could be a doubt for the game against Mexico and that Palma is one who has picked up a ‘slight injury’.

Rueda said [Diez], “Luis Vega has an injury to his shoulder, and Luis Palma has a slight injury from a duel he had with [Jorge] Sanchez, we have those situations, we will do our first training session today.

“Yesterday we did some recovery work, we stimulated all the joint mobility and we will see the evolution of the whole group.”

I’m sure Brendan Rodgers will be keeping a close eye on this one as Palma has been absolutely crucial for the Celtic manager this season.

His goals and assists helped secure Celtic’s first point in the Champions League this season and Palma was absolutely outstanding in the 6-0 win over Aberdeen.

With Palma set to face Honduras at 2:30am (BST) on Wednesday morning, all eyes will be on the national side’s training session today to see if the Celtic winger gets through it unscathed.
