Celtic are eyeing goalkeeping reinforcements as the January window approaches, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed the Hoops were keen to add a new shot-stopper during the recent summer window, but a move failed to materialise.

Brendan Rodgers’ side will once again endeavour to bring in competition for Joe Hart in January – but could delay the signing until next summer if the right option is not available.

Hart has been the undisputed number one at Parkhead since his arrival on a free transfer in 2021.

The 36-year-old made 50 appearances across all competitions last term as Celtic won a domestic treble.

He kept 20 clean sheets and conceded 48 goals in those outings, and was named in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year for his efforts.

Hart has kept his place in the starting 11 at Celtic despite the departure of Ange Postecoglou and subsequent arrival of Rodgers.

The ex-Man City star has notched four clean sheets in 10 total outings for the Hoops this term, conceding nine goals.

He is under contract with the Glasgow giants until the end of the season.

Also on the books at Celtic are goalkeepers Scott Bain and Benjamin Siegrist, both 31.

Bain stepped in for two Scottish Premiership matches following Hart’s red card against Livingston, conceding once in 150 minutes of action.
