Following the Liverpool game, Stephen Warnock nearly ran out of praise for 20-year-old Tottenham Hotspur player Destiny Udogie.

On “The Football Show” on Sky Sports News, Warnock praised the defence alongside Micky van de Ven.

The pundit was astonished by how far up the pitch Udogie was playing, thanks to Ange Postecoglou.

But Udogie too, my gosh, what a find he is as well, Warnock added.

I was not surprised by how energetic he came off.

He was playing centre forward for the majority of the game while I watched him and thought, “He cannot continue to make these runs.

“And I’m thinking, you’re a left back, I mean I’m going to have to go get my boots back on.

“They’ve got him playing a great style of football.”

Warnock isn’t the first analyst to praise Udogie’s first few months at Tottenham, of course. The £15 million signing has adapted to the Premier League with ease since moving there permanently this summer.

And with Pedro Porro on the right, Ange has two full-backs at the top of their games.

Warnock believed that Udogie was a striker for Tottenham

Even though Udogie’s new manager has given him a strong offensive brief, he still does a fantastic job moving in the direction of his own goal.

Following the Liverpool game, both Manor Solomon and Brennan Johnson were glowing in their admiration for the Italian.

Jamie Redknapp, a commentator, couldn’t believe how much better Udogie was under Postecoglou.

The real test, like with this entire Tottenham team at the moment, will come when Spurs experience a wobble.

For the time being, Postecoglou’s new Tottenham team has not received any feedback regarding their performances.

However, Warnock, an ex-pro, is well aware that Udogie and his Tottenham colleagues would experience difficult times in the future.

The way they recover from those situations may be the true test.
