Stephy Mavididi out, 4-3-3: Leicester City XI expected to face Preston

Here is our predicted starting line-up for Leicester on Tuesday night

Leicester City take on Preston North End in a crucial Championship clash with each team on the back of just one loss. Mads Hermansen is a skilled goalkeeper who has kept a number of clean sheets this season despite a recent mistake. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was impressive with three goals and three assists, adding quality to the team’s midfield.

On Tuesday evening, a heavyweight match will take place in the SM series.

At the top of the table, Leicester City face Preston North End, who are third in the league table. Both teams have lost only one game, but the difference between the teams is four points after nine games.

Preston’s first defeat came against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday. The 4-0 defeat at Deepdale was a tough pill to swallow for Ryan Lowe and his team. On the other hand, Leicester was also involved in scoring for Lancashire when they beat Blackburn Rovers 4-1.

With such a result, the same team should play again on Tuesday. But with only a few days between games, changes will have to be made.

Here is Leicester City’s predicted starting line-up to face Blackburn Rovers.

GK: Mads Hermansen

Mads Hermansen

City conceded just six times in the league all season. One of those came from a terrific pass from Harry Winks at the weekend that led the midfielder out of his own box and into Sammie Szmodics’ goal.

Despite this stain, the Danish goalkeeper kept 1.44 goals against this season and also helped Enzo Maresca to change the style of play of the club; but they must be careful in their box. RB: Ricardo Pereira

The Portuguese teams started on Saturday after about 20 minutes for Hamza Choudhury. Maresca thought about the game against Preston.

The Foxes were only 2-1 up at the time, so it could have been a setback. But they scored two goals after Pereira was brought down and he should be much fresher on Tuesday night.

CB: Wout Faes

The Belgian got his goal of the season against Rovers, slotting past Aynsley Pears in the fourth minute. He has established himself as one of the best defenders in the league.

CB: Jannik Vestergaard

The Italian manager seems to prefer this pairing. When Leicester were in the Premier League, Vestergaard struggled to get minutes.

The club’s relegation rejuvenated the club and its Danish defender.

LB: James Justin

The England full-back didn’t have much to do at the weekend. He was not involved in the opposition’s goal and was not thought to be an attacking threat, although most of the goals came from wide areas.

But he has been pretty solid and is expected to keep his spot.

CM: Harry Winks

Leicester City midfielder Harry Winks

The former Tottenham Hotspurs player passed the ball to Szmodics but it was an absolute hospital pass from the keeper.

Tuesday night is a very big game for Leicester and we expect them to use the experience and quality of Winks to get the better of them.

CM: Wilfried Ndidi

Wilfred Ndidi Leicester City

Firstly, what a pass it was for Jamie Vardy’s goal. The Nigerian is not known to be dazzled by his teammates, but it is clearly in his closet.

This game, and most of the other games he was involved in this season, showed the quality he has so far; a quality they can lose in a few months.

CM: Kiernan Dewsbury Hall

Championship – Huddersfield Town – Leicester City

Speaking of quality, isn’t it good. It was a nice goal from him, maybe Yunus Akgun’s slightly overhead pass, and he lifted it a bit angled over the keeper and into the net.

He has three goals and three assists in the WC series this season. Big numbers for a midfielder.

RW: Adbul Fatawu Issahaku

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku

The Ghanaian has been in rich form since arriving at the club. Since joining Leicester, the 19-year-old has played just one game in the Championship, scoring less than seven out of 10 according to Sofascore.

Once a player is involved, let them do their job.

ST: Jamie Vardy

Jamie Vardy

The same opinion can be applied to this club legend. The captain has scored four goals and assists in his last eight games. It’s a testament to who he is as a player and a professional that he can do that at his age.

LW: Yunus Akgun

Mavidid’s performance against Blackburn was not inspiring enough to secure his place in the team. He didn’t finish a single dribble or a single shot.

He was brought on for the Turkish winger just over 20 minutes in and Akgun got the assist. This is the second game for him.

We think Akgun should get the nod, but still, what a luxury it is to have someone like Mavidid come off the bench against tired legs.
