Crystal Palace target ‘happily accepted’ contract termination Wants to keep ‘control of his destiny’

Crystal Palace target Julian Draxler will ‘happily accept’ the termination of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain as he considers a move this summer.

That’s according to Le Parisien, who claim the German player could be on a free transfer if he gets his wish.

Earlier today, it was reported that Crystal Palace was considering a deal for Draxler, a player on the list of players that PSG are willing to leave before the market expires.

The Eagles are said to have contacted the player about a potential transfer and have received a positive response, indicating he is “excited” about the possibility of a move to Selhurst Park.

Negotiations between the two clubs are said to have taken place, although it has been explained that the deal will not be easy for Crystal Palace to strike.
However, this could become easier if Draxler is released from the contract. And that is a real possibility according to Le Parisien.

The newspaper reported that the termination of the last year of the contract was a “solution” to the current situation that Draxler would “happily accept” if offered.

He wants to keep “control of his destiny” and doesn’t want any problems to arise in potential destinations, including Crystal Palace. In other words, he would rather become a free agent and negotiate on his own than PSG could cause problems with his demands.

Becoming a free agent will also give him more freedom to discuss the terms of his contract, with his current high salary already seen as a potential problem for Palace.

It’s a developing situation anyway and something to watch out for, with Draxler being one of the ‘closest to the exit’ and Crystal Palace being heavily involved.
