It’s unusual for Nottingham Forest to defeat Chelsea by a score of 1-0 at Stamford Bridge. However, we are currently experiencing what some could mistakenly classify as a crisis. Chelsea has only collected four points from its first 12 games and has lost to both West Ham and Nottingham Forest. It paints a bleak image, especially when you take Chelsea and Tottenham into account. Both teams adopted new managers, but Chelsea appears to be struggling while Spurs are booming.

The $1 Billion-Pound Mystery

Mark Goldbridge said, “Chelsea are in crisis,” and one is left to question why. After all, how can a team spend an incredible $1 billion in just a year and still fail to sign a striker of the highest calibre? Talent is abundant on the Chelsea team, from defence to midfield. However, Jackson, a player who, despite his promise, blew a great opportunity in the most recent game, is in charge of leading the attack. Why, after spending a billion pounds, have Chelsea not chosen someone like Osimhen or Kane, Goldbridge questioned sharply

It is obvious that Chelsea is unable to take advantage of her possibilities. It is clear that there is a huge vacuum in their offence given that they only managed two shots on target in 90 minutes against Nottingham Forest. There is a definite lack of a game-changing striker.

The Forest Viewpoint

Chelsea’s difficulties are obvious, but Nottingham Forest should be praised. In their first games, they played against strong opposition, travelling to venues like the Emirates, Old Trafford, and Stamford Bridge. Nevertheless, they were able to earn six points from these games. It is to be commended for their disciplined defensive and threat on the counter. They did a nice job on Chelsea today, said Goldbridge. It wasn’t an assault on their objective. Chelsea could have continued playing till Christmas and yet not scored, it seemed.

The Future Route

Chelsea has time to change things around because it is still early. While not universally regarded as a coach of the highest calibre, Pochettino is quite capable. Chelsea has plenty of time to reorganise and plan thanks to the international break and the absence of any distractions from European football. The absence of a top-tier striker, however, continues to be the biggest source of concern. As Goldbridge succinctly put it:

Chelsea must exercise patience. BUT IT’S DIFFICULT TO BE CONTENT WITH FOUR POINTS FROM TWELVE.

Chelsea’s season hasn’t gotten off to the best of starts, which has led to concerns about their plan and player signings. Despite the team’s undeniable talent, it is glaringly obvious that they lack a great striker. It will be interesting to see how the season plays out and whether Chelsea is able to overcome this obstacle and get back to winning. For the time being, “crisis” seems appropriate.
