Brendan Rodgers has already had honest conversations with Celtic stars he expects will leave the club this month.

That, for the manager, was vital as he looks to strengthen in certain areas of the pitch including up front as well as on the left-flank and potentially through the middle. In terms of central defenders, the Hoops are stacked. That hasn’t stopped Scott McKenna from becoming the most notable transfer rumour this month with the Scotland cap believed to be on the radar at Parkhead. Football Scotland has been told by sources down south that no official approach has yet been made for the 27-year-old but the Scottish champions could be looking for a loan move

That’s if Gustaf Lagerbielke moves on with clubs in the MLS believed to be keen on the Swedish defender. He has barely featured under Rodgers and that makes an exit look likely. Yuki Kobayashi is another who is believed to be on the way out with Yokohama F Marinos’ new boss Harry Kewell interested.

Mathias Kvistgaarden, the striker, remains on the wishlist at Celtic but they’ve not yet improved their bid from last summer. Brondby want a handsome fee close to £7million but it’s not believed the club will stretch to that in their efforts to provide competition for Kyogo. Cercle Brugge have registered an interest in the player now, too.

Romeo Amaneis still under consideration from Hacken but, again, the Hoops are yet to table an offer Estoril as they seek left-back cover. Owen Beck will be staying at Liverpool.
