After five exciting rounds, it can be said that the 2023/24 EFL Championship season has kicked off in style ahead of the September international break. Teams West Midlands,  Albion and Birmingham City have had mixed starts. It’s been a good few days, with the Baggies trailing in 11th place, but the Blues are enjoying life in the top four.

The surprise packs are probably Preston North End and Ipswich Town as they take the lead, but it’s a big contrast to Middlesbrough and Leeds United.

Sheffield Wednesday only won one point out of 15 points, marking a disastrous return to the English second division after the appointment of Xisco Muñoz. On a more positive note, Championship newcomers Plymouth Argyle have impressed with two wins from their first five games and Hull City are leading the way in an exciting campaign.

Ahead of the new season, bookmakers have been making bold predictions but numerous surprises at both ends of the division have now dramatically changed their odds. With that in mind, here are the final rankings based on the latest odds, taking into account the first matches before the international break.
