Kudus to the point:
Ajax star midfielder is eyeed by West Ham

In the hectic summer football transfer market, some names linger longer than most. Aggressive 23-year-old Ajax player Mohammed Kudus finds himself the hot topic of this season in London and especially around the London Stadium.

A rising star
What caught the eye was more than just the epic sight of Kudus celebrating after scoring beautifully in Ajax’s 4-1 win over Heracles. With two appearances in the Eredivisie this season and scoring one goal, the Ghanaian appears to be a fit man.

Last Thursday, under the Bulgarian sky, the star Kudus shined the brightest again. He left the field after scoring a hat-trick in Ajax’s Europa League play-off against the Ludogorets. If the rumors are correct then London Stadium delegates were present to witness the spectacle. The midfielder himself also hinted that his days with the Dutch giants may have been numbered.

Continuing in the Premier League
Ajax’s extraordinary talent is nothing new to the Premier League. Earlier this summer, the Brighton Seagulls appeared to have torn Kudus apart. However, the wind of transfer changed when individual terms could not be finalized.

From Nordsjaelland to Ajax and more
Kudus’s journey really began with Danish side Nordsjaelland in 2018. But it was his move to Ajax in 2020 that really put him on the European football map. With 27 goals in 87 appearances and two Eredivisie titles, it’s easy to see why he’s attracted the attention of the Premier League.

Last season, his strength increased with 11 goals in 30 appearances, although Ajax only finished in third place. On the international stage, he is no less impressive. Since joining Ghana in 2019, Kudus has made 24 appearances, scoring 7 goals. Not to mention his standout performance at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, where he scored a brace to seal a 3-2 win over South Korea.

West Ham’s massive shopping spree
Given the potential transfer of Kudus, it seems David Moyes has particularly appreciated Ajax’s talent pool. Earlier this summer, The Hammers secured the signing of midfielder Edson Alvarez in a deal rumored to be around £35m. Add to that the recent signings of James Ward-Prowse from Southampton and Konstantinos Mavropanos from Stuttgart, and one could argue that West Ham are consolidating their rankings in quite impressive fashion.

In short
If this potential transfer materializes, it will certainly be a highlight for West Ham. With Premier League clubs vying for his signature, acquiring Kudus would signal a statement of intent from the Hammers. As the transfer story unfolds, stay tuned. As the BBC reports, the next chapter in Kudus’ journey could very well take place in central London.
