Nottingham Forest Player decision to turn down Liverpool

For any football player, declining Liverpool is not a simple decision, and Jesper Lindstrom has yet to demonstrate that it was the right one.

Today’s player and prior remarks from him acknowledging that Liverpool wanted him were covered by Corriere dello Sport.

After several years of excelling for the German team in the Bundesliga and Europe, Lindstrom moved to Napoli from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer in a €30 million deal.

However, he is failed to get going, making only three Serie A games to date and participating in only 22% of the available minutes.

Being told by Corriere that “the coup has no place” in the team under Rudi Garcia is hardly a great start for the player.

He wasn’t prepared for his inclusion in the team to be “partial” when he signed with the Serie A champions in the summer.
He asserted that the move had been made for “strategic reasons,” and he claimed that he had rejected Liverpool in favor of the playing time and development in Italy.

When questioned about the interest from Anfield earlier this year, he responded, “The Reds wanted me, yes, but how long would I have played?”

Would going there have been a wise decision? Although I’m a fan, I might as well sit and watch them on television if I’m not playing. I have to play a little now that I’m 23, so I think Napoli is a good adjustment.

“They stated I will play at one of the top clubs in the world. I will have numerous opportunitie.

But since that hasn’t happened for him, he currently seems to be fading away rather than advancing and further solidifying himself.

Of course, there is still time to turn things around given that it is still early in the process, but right now he might be second-guessing his choice to reject Liverpool.
