After being traded from the Green Bay Packers to the Buffalo Bills before this year’s NFL trade deadline, cornerback Rasul Douglas is soaking it all in. During his media availability this week following the trade, a Bills media member asked him what he thought of the Buffalo franchise before he ultimately got traded to them and his response couldn’t have been better.

“They got crazy fans. They throw snowballs at refs and players on the field,” Douglas said. Bills fans have been labeled as the “Bills Mafia” for their allegiance and devotion to the franchise and are widely regarded as one of the more loyal fanbases in all of American sports.

The Bills sent a 2024 third-round pick to the Packers in exchange for Douglas’ services and a 2024 fifth-round pick. Douglas is currently in the second season of a three-year, $21 million contract he signed in 2022.

Douglas won a Super Bowl in 2017 during his rookie season with the Philadelphia Eagles but now finds himself on his fourth team in his first seven NFL seasons. However, Douglas’ stint with the Packers was his most productive of them all. He started 28 games and recorded 10 interceptions, returning two of them for touchdowns.

This season, Douglas has started in all seven of the Packers’ games, recording 32 tackles, two tackles for loss, one fumble recovery, and an interception. Bills head coach Sean McDermott hasn’t confirmed whether or not Douglas will suit up for the Bills this weekend when they face the Bengals on Sunday Night Football, but he has a chance to make his debut then.
