Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing VfB Stuttgart goal-machine Serhou Guirassy after his brilliant start to the season.
“However, the first sighting of Stuttgart’s leader, Serhou Guirassy, has been seen,” Jones wrote on GMS. The club are determined to take their time to find a suitable replacement for Kane, and even if they eventually do, it may not be until the end of the season.
The Guinea international has been linked with a move to the Premier League several times in the past, during his time playing for French side Amiens. But real interest from top clubs could increase in 2024 if he continues to score early goals in the Bundesliga.
The VfB Stuttgart striker is one of the leaders with the best form in Europe after scoring 10 goals in 6 matches in the Bundesliga. This is more than what Harry Kane has done so far at Bayern Munich and even surpasses the records of Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland this season.
The 27-year-old has enjoyed a late rise, notably playing for 1.FC Cologne, Amiens and Rennes with varying success. A loan move to Stuttgart in 2022 has really given Guirassy a chance to progress, as he scored 14 goals in 28 games last season, prompting the Bundesliga side to make him permanent.
Brighton were one of the first clubs to have the opportunity to sign the Guinea international a few years ago. But more recently, Fulham and West Ham have expressed interest. Both clubs are still looking to bring this striker to the Premier League in the January transfer window.
Interestingly, Tottenham Hotspur are said to be one of the teams considering signing Guirassy. The Lilywhites’ foundations to replace Kane in the squad have been carefully laid in the long term, but the club will accelerate the process in 2024. The decision not to replace Kane in the summer transfer window has so far proven to be the right one, and Son Heung-min’s strength in the midfield is something Ange Postecoglou is more than happy with.
