during the racial taunts given at Destiny Udogie during Tottenham Hotspur’s contentious victory over Liverpool on Saturday in matchday seven of the Premier League, Spanish La Liga team Valencia has issued a message of support to him.

Due to his role in the dismissal of Diogo Jota, who was given his marching orders after committing two bookable offences, the dynamic full-back became one of the talking points of the contentious match.

Jota was ruled to have fouled Udogie in the 68th minute, but replays revealed that there had only been light contact between them. A minute later, the Liverpool forward fouled him again and was sent out.

The 20-year-old afterwards posted on social media to celebrate his team’s win over the Anfield team, but was attacked with racial slurs.

Tottenham has publicly denounced the heinous attack on their fullback on social media and has vowed to cooperate with the Premier League in identifying the perpetrator.

Valencia has also shown their support for the young Italian-Nigerian left-back in response to the North London team denouncing the assault on Udogie on their official X account.

The situation is completely intolerable. In athletics or in society, racism has no place, Valencia opined on X.

“Destiny Udogie, we are with you.”
