While James Maddison attracted attention thanks to his talent and creativity, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Micky van de Ven went unnoticed.
Van de Ven joined Tottenham from VfL Wolfsburg during the summer transfer window.
Now he is only 22 years old.
So one could be forgiven for thinking that the Dutchman will take time to get used to the Premier League. However, Van de Ven immediately made an impact at Tottenham.
The 22-year-old player took to the Premier League like a duck to water.

The Dutchman has played in all six Premier League matches for Spurs so far this season and has established himself as in the first team.
And, former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has been impressed.

“When you look at him at 22, he’s quite experienced, right?
“He is very experienced. He doesn’t dive in. For a young kid, he looks a very intelligent footballer.”

I believe that Micky van de Ven is a gem of a player and Tottenham Hotspur are a better team with him in it.
The Dutchman is very good on the ball, makes the right challenges at the right time, and is very mature.
Now, of course, playing alongside Cristian Romero at the back does help, but we have to admire Van de Ven for the way he has been so good so far this season.
Tottenham are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
