According to Chronicle Live, West Ham United has “made a move” to sign Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer.
Writing on its website (June 24), the newspaper reports that the Hammers and Brentford have contacted the Toffees to sign the 27-year-old as he enters the final year of his contract.
Newcastle were expected to lead the race but then pulled out of the deal due to Everton’s £37m asking price, leaving the door open for Julen Lopetegui to get his man.

Michail Antonio is wanted by clubs in MLS and Saudi Arabia [Athletic, May 15], and Danny Ings is a target for Southampton [talkSPORT, May 28], making their futures at Club is uncertain.
A number of strikers have also been linked with moves to east London, including Callum Wilson [Chronicle Live, June 22], Jonathan David [iNews, June 19] and Youssef En-Nesyri [Fichajes, June May 22].
Calvert-Lewin is in similar form to those who have a very strong following, he has good mobility and good finishing, but his record is not good and his injury record is worth mentioning fear.
However, Carlo Ancelotti is a huge fan and that is reason enough to consider a deal.
If the club are serious about signing him, they would need to negotiate down to the asking price to minimize the risk, but it is certainly a deal worth watching.
