Tottenham have announced Johan Lange as their new technical director, joining from Aston Villa.

Tottenham have announced the arrival of Johan Lange as the club’s brand new technical director from 1 November 2023. The 43-year-old is now in charge of Spurs’ recruitment and has a keen eye for both analysis and talent identification. on the part of incoming players.

Lange’s role sees him move into the same role as Fabio Paratici when he was the club’s director of football. However, the Italian left the club earlier this year after being handed a 30-month ban by FIFA for “any activity related to football”, which was later reduced on appeal. Lange will now work under the newly appointed Scott Munn, who was appointed as Director of Football earlier this year, joining from City Football Group. Munn told the club’s website about the new arrival: “Johan has shown excellent results in scouting and acquiring many talented and successful young and senior players. He is a welcome addition as we strengthen our football operations.”

Hailing from Denmark, Lange’s first foray into the footballing world came in the form of an early coaching career in his home nation. In 2008 he was appointed as the assistant manager for Danish Superliga giants FC Copenhagen and spent four years at the club.
