Five-star offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor is ready to suit up for the Alabama Crimson Tide in the 2024 season after landing Freshman All-America honors last season. Unfortunately, he was unable to suit up for the program in its most recent spring game as he’s currently enrolled at a different school!

Proctor entered the transfer portal after Nick Saban’s retirement, returning to his home state of Iowa to join the Hawkeyes’ roster. Before taking a snap in spring practice, though, he made the decision to spurn the Big Ten program a head back to Tuscaloosa.

It was the latest turn in what’s been a roller coaster recruitment for the former five-star blocker. Rated as one of the nation’s top prospects in his high school class, he committed to Iowa early on in the process.

Just days before signing day, however, he flipped to Alabama.

While he put together a solid rookie year in Tuscaloosa, a change of leadership caused him to give the Hawkeyes another look. In the ultimate nightmare scenario for Iowa, Proctor bit them again with a decision to return to his original college team.

So, technically, he’s still a Hawkeye, which made his presence at the Alabama spring game all the more bizarre. And since he’s technically not on the Crimson Tide roster, he was forced to watch from the sidelines.
